And maybe it is not a question of time. Frequently it is a question of purpose. Why do I want to invest my time differently? What can I star t doing that will create a big impact in my life/career? What is it that I miss the most? And don’t think in terms of minutes and hours; think in terms of fulfillment and the rest will come.
There are two steps that can help you have more “fulfilling time”: the first one is to Decide. Before deciding everything seems viable; everything is a possibility . And, what happens when we have too many options? Usually, we end up just doing nothing. So narrow it down, make a plan with your time and make it consistent with your purpose. Alan Lakein - Time Management Guru- said that “planning is really decision making" even when it comes to deciding to start exercising, to read those books on your nightstand, to spend time with family, or to begin a big professional project. Deciding to take a course of action lifts a heavy weight and allows you to flow. And according to Alan Lakein, decision making only takes 15 min. Write down on a piece of paper these words: I decide…
A tip to help you to decide is really not taking that step so seriously. Almost every plan needs reviewing once they are implemented. So don’t be afraid of making the decision. You will always have the flexibility to make the necessary adjustments to make it work, but to do so, things must start happening.
And that’s the next step: to Start. The decision has been made so don’t hesitate wondering if it is the right moment; you will never be 100% sure it is. And if you had been having the feeling that you need more time or that you want something more, then it is time to start. Don’t get stuck in life’s waiting room. Decide, Plan, Start and Feel Proud!
